At times the City may conduct Open Houses and allow Public Tours at the Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant to provide information and education to the public on plant processes. Plant employees and other City staff members will be available to conduct tours and answer questions.
Citizens wishing to tour the facilities are encouraged to wear comfortable closed toed shoes and to avoid flip flops and high heels. Visitors to all facilities should be aware they are visiting working industrial utility plants and are covered by applicable federal laws regarding safety and security. The facilities are not all ADA accessible, although reasonable accommodations will be made.
Tours are available for:
- Students of all ages, from elementary school to college level. We tailor the tour to your group.
- Organizations, service clubs, business and industry groups.
- Any group with an interest in wastewater treatment and water quality protection.
- Please have groups of minimum 3 individuals (exceptions can be made for less than 3 but we prefer the group to be at least 3 people due to staff time limitations).
Virtual Plant Tours
In addition to actual plant walking tours, Staff can also give a “virtual video tour” of the plant for those unable to traverse the plant grounds.
