Vacaville has a number of Special Standards Overlays that apply to specific areas in the zoning map. The SS-Special Standards Overlay District is intended to be applied in residential, commercial, and industrial zoning districts to sites where master planning is required due to circulation, design, or compatibility issues or the existence of other land use limitations. The SS district may also be applied to areas where the lack of public facilities or land use characteristics practically limit the range of land uses appropriate for the site. Generally, the sites where this district would be applied would have unique or unusual land use issues which require that certain special standards be applied in order to ensure that development of the site is consistent with the purposes of the Zoning Ordinance.
