According to the City of Vacaville Municipal Code, temporary signs, such as “real estate signs,” “garage sale signs,” “campaign signs,” “construction signs,” “banners,” and “event posters”  are allowed on private property and DO NOT require a sign permit from the City. Specifically, "A sign permit is not required for temporary signs that comply with the provisions of this chapter except as otherwise may be required under the Uniform Code."

During an election, political signs are allowed 90 days prior to the election and must be removed no later than 30 days after the election. There is no limit to the number of temporary signs, and they may be up to 100 square feet in size. However, signs placed on City right-of-way (medians, fences, parks, etc.) will be removed by the City. All removed signs will be taken to the Corporation Yard and can be picked up there.

To contact the Corporation Yard, call (707) 469-6500 during regular office hours: 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
