PGE has issued a PSPS alert that could result in power outages to parts of Vacaville and other areas in the region this weekend. We do not anticipate that these outages will affect water service delivery, however residents are encouraged to continue to use water efficiently and prudently during this time. Specific water conservation measures include:

  • Use water only when necessary.
  • Do not use water outdoors, including irrigating your landscape, as much as possible.
  • Flush your toilets only when necessary.
  • Limit your showers to no more than 5-10 minutes.
  • When you do use water, use it sparingly. Do not leave water running when not in use.

The Utilities Department is responsible for the acquisition, treatment and storage of potable water, as well as the treatment and discharge of the City’s wastewater. These operations are supported by administration, engineering, maintenance, pretreatment, and water quality teams working together to acquire, operate and maintain facilities and equipment, conduct extensive testing and analysis, compile and disseminate regular reports and documentation, and enforce compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and ensure customer confidence and safety.
