The Vacaville Police Department's Crime Suppression Team (CST) strives to reduce the number of calls for service, identify crime trends, and address problem locations or persons. The team is overseen by the Investigative Services Division Lieutenant and is comprised of one sergeant and four detectives. Soon the unit will be expanding and will have two sergeants and seven detectives. The unit is tasked with conducting follow-up investigations on all gang-related crimes. They identify gang members, their associates and the areas that they congregate. Crime Suppression works closely with other units in the department as well as with California Department of Corrections Parole, California Youth Authority Parole, and Solano County Probation.
