CITY SEEKS APPLICATIONS FOR POSSIBLE COMMISSION OPENINGS
The City of Vacaville is accepting applications from citizens interested in serving on the Planning or Parks & Recreation commissions.
To be considered, applicants must be 18 years of age and reside within the incorporated limits of the City of Vacaville. Current commissioner terms expire on March 31, 2020. The commissions are advisory groups to the City Council.
Planning Commission members review new development projects and make recommendations on City planning issues. A formal land-use planning education is not required, but members are expected to become familiar with the City’s General Plan, zoning ordinance, and legislation affecting planning. The Planning Commission meets regularly on the third Tuesday of each month and on the first Tuesday of each month as needed.
The Parks & Recreation Commission advises the City Council on recreation and cultural arts activities. The panel meets the first Wednesday of each month.
Commissioners on both commissions serve staggered two-year terms. To be considered for appointment for an expiring term, applications should be submitted to the City Clerk no later than 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020.
Applications are available at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 650 Merchant Street, Vacaville, or on the City’s website, www.cityofvacaville.com/commissions.
