Upcoming events at the Vacaville Cultural Center Library Aug. 14-23

The Vacaville Cultural Center Library is hosting a variety of programs in the coming weeks for people of all ages.

Aug. 14, 10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: Genealogical Society Discussion Group

Join members of the Solano County Genealogical Society during a discussion group that meets on the second Wednesday of each month. Every month will have a different genealogy research topic to discuss. This month’s topic is: “Pack Your Bags for Your Genealogy Research” – a roundtable discussion.

Aug. 15, 2 –4 p.m.: Road to Employment, Assistance for Job Seekers

Representatives from the Solano County Workforce Investment Board will be available to provide assistance to job seekers during the “Road to Employment” workshop. Adults age 18 to 24 are especially welcome.

Aug. 15, 7–9 p.m.: Master Gardeners Workshop

The Solano Master Gardeners will be having a gardening workshop at Vacaville Cultural Center Library on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This month’s topic is: giant velvet rose. Learn how to care for this heat-tolerant, easy-start, simple-to-grow succulent. Individuals of all skill levels in gardening are welcome to attend.

Aug. 21, 3:30–5 p.m.: Teen littleBits Workshop

The Vacaville Cultural Center Library will be having a special teen program featuring littleBits kits. littleBits are easy-to-use electronic circuits that snap together to make a variety of projects, such as scribble machines, a self-driving car, a synth music kit, a droid, and more. Teens and tweens age 12 to 18 will work together in groups to make their gadget ideas come to life.  

Aug. 22, 2–4 p.m.: Road to Employment, Assistance for Job Seekers

Aug. 23, 2–4:30 p.m.: Knot Just Knitters

People of all skill levels are welcome to attend to share their projects with the Knot Just Knitters, and help is available to anyone that would like to learn something new
