CHP Smart Start, Master Gardeners, and more!

Here are some upcoming activities at the Ulatis Cultural Center Library the week of August 13: 

CHP Start Smart

The Vacaville Cultural Center Library will be having a session of “CHP Start Smart” from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15. 

“Start Smart” is a free driver’s education workshop hosted by a California Highway Patrol officer to discuss safe driving techniques and explaining the rules and responsibilities of driving to new teen drivers and their parents. 

All teens age 15 to 19 that are preparing to become new drivers or have just received their license may attend the workshop. Teens must have a parent or guardian with them in order to attend. 

Master Gardeners Workshop at Vacaville Cultural Center Library

The Master Gardeners will be having a gardening workshop at Vacaville Cultural Center Library from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16.

The topic for this month is: winter gardening. Learn tips and tricks from Master Gardener Gene Ekanstam regarding how to prepare and plant a winter garden. Individuals of all skill levels in gardening are welcome to attend.

Gadget Clinic at the Vacaville Cultural Center Library

Anyone needing help with their digital device can bring it to the Gadget Clinic at the Vacaville Cultural Center Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.  The next Gadget Clinic will be on Aug. 17. 

A tech-savvy volunteer will be available to help with almost any portable device, such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, and much more. No appointments are necessary; drop-in assistance will be provided by the volunteer.
