A high pressure system is bringing dangerous heat to the Bay Area and elevating fire concerns through Sunday. Temperatures are expected to be in the 100s. It is important to look after those whose health may be affected by the heat wave, particularly children, older adults and pets. Below are helpful tips on staying cool from the National Weather Service:

 

  • Never leave children or pets alone in a parked car.                                                           
  • Drink more water than usual.
  • Limit outdoor strenuous activities during the hottest time of the day.                         
  • Wear light colored clothing and a hat.
  • Seek air-conditioned buildings.

Save the date for the annual Jim Lawrenz Memorial Golf Tournament, to be held Friday, September 28, 2018, at the Chardonnay Golf Club, located at 2555 Jameson Canyon Rd., American Canyon.  Entry fee will be $125 per person, which includes range balls, green fees, cart, a great goodie bag, lunch, dinner, and lots of fun.  The tournament is a four person men’s, women’s and mixed scramble event, and will also include putting and other contests, interactive holes, raffles, plus mulligan bags will be for sale during registration.   You won’t want to miss this tournament, where all proceeds go to benefit your Vacaville Museum, so mark your calendars now and stay tuned for further details.  For more information, you may also call The Vacaville Museum, 707-447-4513.
